Junior Racing League
Junior Racing will be back Summer 2026!
Each Tuesday evening, the next generation of sailors takes to the water for Junior Racing at the Wawasee Yacht Club. Young sailors skipper their own Open Skiff sailboats, gaining hands-on experience in boat handling, racing strategy, and sportsmanship.
Designed to be fun, friendly, and educational, Junior Racing provides a welcoming environment for youth of all skill levels—from beginners still learning the ropes to experienced sailors honing their racing skills.
With supportive coaching and a focus on teamwork, these evenings help foster confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of sailing.
Families and club members gather onshore to cheer on the sailors, creating a vibrant community atmosphere as the sun sets over Lake Wawasee.
Junior Sailing is Tuesdays 5pm-7pm.
Registration
The event is open to all O’pen Skiff class boats.
Eligible boats may enter by completing the entry form and submitting it, together with the required fee, to Andrew Wallach.
To be considered an entry in the event, a boat shall complete all registration requirements and pay all fees.
Entry fees are based on whether you will utilize a club boat or use your own:
Use club boat: $50
Use your boat: $25
